Pawn Noodles Again....

A few months back, I have blog about this heavenly Turtle Soup located along Upper Paya Lebar Road, but I was walking from the Turtle Soup place towards the nearest MRT station and I saw this...

place with a big signboard indicating 'Geylang Prawn Noodles'.
Since it can occupy such a big stall by itself, there ought
to be something special...

So here goes for nothing...:P
A bowl of 'Prawn Noodles'
Pretty much similar to the Prawn Noodles that can be found in
"ABC Brickworks Market/Food Centre", the ingredients that was
given here are mainly vegetables and cooked Prawns that are
cut into half. So if you are a Prawn head lover, here's
something for you. The Prawns that was given also comes with
shell and the prawn head. On top of that, I was expecting
the bowl of noodles to comes with a lot of soup, but it doesn't
which makes the taste of the chilli and the noodles to blend
together even much more. (Usually some places tend to add either
Pork Rib soup or Boiled water into the bowl of noodles, which
kinda changes the taste of the bowl of "Prawn Noodles". :O)

However this bowl of "Prawn Noodles" is pretty good. Although
it doesn't comes with a big variety of ingredients, but the
taste of the bowl of Noodles is pretty good. The spicy taste
that blends in pretty well with the noodles and the flesh Prawns
has given me enough reason to visit the place again. :P

How much does your secret recipe cost?

If you have been following the news for the past few months, there was this roasted meat place willing to sell their secret recipe at a price of S$2 Million and their shop space at a price of S$1.5 Million. Although it ended up with 0 buyers at all, I'm still pretty amaze with the amount of confidence that the owners had in their so-called secret recipe. Therefore I decided to give it a try.

Char Siew, also known as Barbecue Pork Meat, Rice
I have to admit that I was at the place pretty late, therefore
I'm ended up trying the 'Char Siew' only. Based on various resources,
the 3 infamous dish of the stall are the Roast Duck, the Roast Meat
and the Char Siew. But according to my friend, she thinks that the
Char Siew is the best. :D Pretty lucky~~~

SO what is so special about this Char Siew?
First of all, the skin of each slices of Char Siew are pretty crispy.
Although the skin are pretty black but I simply don't care. Secondly,
though the skin is crispy on the outside, the meat are pretty chewy
and are made out of a bit of meat and lots of fats. Proportion wise
probably it's like 25% meat and 75% fats. Sinful yet delicious and
irresistibility good. Last but not least, the chilli that can blend
with the meat isn't very spicy and yet tasty.

The name of the stall would be 'Kay Lee Roast Meat Joint' and
it is located along Upper Paya Lebar Road.

TMNT: Time for some Turtle Power...

Woo hoo... I miss the old days watching TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) cartoons. :P Especially with all the interesting news about the upcoming TMNT movie in 2013, I decided to go for some Turtle soup.. slurp... Turtle Power?

Here comes a bowl of Turtle soup and a bowl of rice...

So what's so special about this Turtle soup?

First of all, you are getting genuine turtle meat. Besides for turtle meat,
you are also getting the tendon, the jelly like turtle meat, too. Secondly,
the texture of the turtle meat is as soft as the normal chicken meat and at
the same time comes with a chewy touch like a roast pork. :P Third but not
least, the turtle soup has this thin herbal taste that will just keeps you
on and on.
(By the way, I ended up finishing the whole bowl of Turtle Soup. :P Not sure
if I can around asking for an extra bowl of turtle soup but it will be great
if I can go for another round. :D)
(Note: the chilli goes pretty well with the turtle meat too. :D It's a must try.)

The above shows the benefits of having a Turtle soup.

Here's a copy of the menu of this place. Besides for Turtle soup,
they also have Black chicken herbal soup and some other side dishes too.

Location wise:

The name of this place would be 'Tai Seng Turtle Soup'. It used to be
located along Upper Paya Lebar Road. And it seems that they have moved
to 'Hougang Ave 1'. (I found this on the internet and haven't really
confirmed it myself.)
