Wrapping all the ingredients like a Present

I was walking around this new shopping mall, hoping that I could find something new and interesting. I happen to walk past this shop and I decided to give it a try. :)

Here's a 10" Big Ocean Wrap With Special Burnt.
It looks like a Candy Bar and the skin of the
wrap reminds me of a 'Naan', in fact it is a 'Naan'.

The concept behind the wrap reminds me of a 'Shawarma'. However,
the vegetables used in the wrap are pretty much similar to a bowl
of cold salad and the the meaty stuff are served warm. If I'm not
mistaken, by default most of the wraps come with vegetables like
lettuce, shredded white and red carrot and cucumber. On top of the
nice vegetables that you are getting, depending on the type of wrap
that you have selected, the ingredients can varies. As for the 'Big
Ocean Wrap', it comes with 'Juicy Fish Tikka' and 'Healthy Fresh
Greens with Mint Yoghurt'. Once you started taking a bite from the
wrap, the mixture of warm and cold fresh and crunchy ingredients
are pretty neat. Since this is much more smaller than a 'Shawarma',
it makes it much more convenient for the busy people working around
that area to have a healthy and delicious meal on the go. :P

So where can you give the interesting wraps a try?

The name of this place would be 'Simply Wrapps'.
It's located on level 3 of '100AM', or previously known as
'Amara Hotel Shopping Mall'.

Interlude: Have a break, have a healthier drink

Do you still remember about the existence of the village of 'A'? I was passing by that place a few days ago and I decided to go in and have a mug of 'A' juice.

'Avocado Juice'
Rather than sticking to the same old stall, I decided to have a mug
of 'Avocado' Juice from one of the stalls located near 'Avocado King'.
Pretty much similar from what you are getting from 'Avocado King',
the juice that I'm getting tastes pretty much the same. It also comes
with a smooth, thick and creamy texture and this would be a pretty
good alternative if the queue for 'Avocado King' is too long. :D

Okay, since the village of 'A' is so big and there are a few stalls selling 'Avocado Jucie', so which one am I referring to?

The name of this stall would be 'Mr Avocado: EXOTIC JUICE'.
Though I have mentioned it earlier, but this stall is located
inside the village of 'A'.

Sugar free Egg free Ice Cream, Dream or Reality?

I was walking through the alleys of Joo Chiat area and at the same time looking at all the food options that can be found here and I'm pretty pleased with the options that can be found here and here's one of them...

2 Scoops of Ice Cream - Soya Bean and Macadamia Vanilla Flavours
It seems that the ice creams that you can get from this place are
made without cream, sugar and eggs and it's low in fat, carbs and
cholesterol. This is a paradise for all the ice cream lovers out there.
We can have our favourite ice cream without getting fat. Woo Hoo...

As for the flavours of the ice cream, the taste are pretty much similar
to the normal ice cream that you are getting out there. The biggest
difference would be the unique flavours that they are offering.
For example 'Macadamia Vanilla'. It's basically 'Vanilla' flavoured
ice cream covered with lots of nuts. I loved the chunky touch that
this ice cream have and I don't mind travelling a bit to give all
the other flavours a try. :P (Probably the 'Mao San Wang' Durian ice cream.)

Where can you find this healthy food? :P

The name of this ice cream shop would be 'Sugalight'.
There's a branch along 'Joo Chiat Place' and there's
another branch along 'Orange Rove Road'.

Notes:
  • The operating hours of the ice cream shop varies. Please check the website of 'Sugalight' for the updated operating hours of the shop. :D

I think I need to do something about my daily diet...

Ever since I started this blog, I told myself that I shouldn't be sticking to the same old stuff that I love. I should move on and try all sorts of different kind of food, which can also be food that I like and food that I don't like... And here's something that I don't really like back then...

'Honey Lavender Yogurt' with 4 toppings (Kiwi, Sunflower seeds, Almonds, Caramel Syrup)
Before explaining how good the 'Yogurt' is, I would like to explain a bit
on why the hell do I hate 'Yogurt'. Firstly, the unbearable sour taste.
Especially those that are too sour. Just taking a bite is unforgettable.
Secondly, sometimes 'Yogurt' can ended up to be too liquid, which is kinda
gross. ==""" I guess the above should more or less explain why I hate it.

So what makes this different?
Firstly, probably because this isn't the usual white 'Yogurt', therefore
it isn't very sour. In fact I don't remember it to be sour at all and the
taste of the 'Yogurt' is pretty sweet. :D Secondly, the texture is pretty
much similar to an ice cream. It isn't too hard nor too soft, which is
perfect. :D Last but not least, the range of toppings that they have.
When I saw the option of choosing sunflowers seed as a topping, my eyes
were popping out. :P (Kinda lame isn't it, but that's the truth.) :P
(Anyway, I was Googling around and there are are a lot of articles on
the topic "health benefits of 'Yogurt'". So you should give it a try too.)

So where can you give this 'Yogurt' a try?

The name of this place would be 'berrylite'.
It seems that they have a few branches island wide and the branch that
I have shown in the above would be the branch that's located on level 5 of
'Bugis+'(previously known as Illuma).

Notes:
  • By the way, for the 'berrylite' branch at 'Bugis+', if you have a ticket stub of the 'Filmgarde' located in 'Bugis+', you will be entitled to a free topping. :D

This is not Cooking Mama......

Though I'm not a very big fan of Korean food, but once in a while, I think that a change of taste can make things pretty interesting and therefore, I decided to pay a nearby Korean restaurant a visit. :D

As for myself, what interest me most of the time, would be the
side dishes. Probably after I went for an overseas trip or two,
it seems that my interest for side dishes has increased rapidly.
To some extent, sometimes I think I was busy focusing and
savouring the side dishes more than the main dish. =.=""
What I love best about the Korean side dishes would be the variety
that they will be giving you. It can be a mixture of various kind
of tastes. Though one might not ended up finishing all the side
dishes, but there ought to be one that will suit your taste bud.
(Too bad, the side dishes of this place isn't refillable.)

'Suyuk' / Boiled Pork
Just by taking a look at this dish, it reminds me of the
infamous Chinese dish 'Beijing Duck'(北京烤鸭). You can
choose to either have a slice of boiled pork with or without
the cucumber slices or bean sprouts in spicy sauce.
This is my first attempt at this dish and it's pretty
good. Although only slices of Pork Belly are given,
but it's prepared in a healthier manner and the original
taste of the pork belly still remains in it. Perhaps
this can be part of a healthy diet? :P
(To some extent, the taste of this dish is pretty much
similar to the roast meat that you are getting at a
'Char Siew' rice stall. :D)
So where can you get this?

The name of this restaurant would be 'Big Mama'.
It's located along Kim Tian Road.
Notes:
  • For some reason, this restaurant seems to be pretty crowded most of the time and I would highly encourage you to make a reservation before making a trip to that place.

The village of 'A'

Please do not mistaken this as a post for some sports products. It is just a coincidence that the name of this village starts with a 'A' and one of the most delicious bite here also happen to start with the letter 'A' too. And by giving it a name of 'A' village makes it easier for me to remember too.

So what is the delicacy that starts with a 'A'?

Answer: Avocado Juice
When I was walking through the stalls of this village, it seems that there
are more than 4 different stalls trying to promote flesh Avocado Juice.

So what's so great about Avocado?
According to an article on CNN health, Avocado are rich in monounsaturated fat,
which is the heart-healthy kind of fats. On top of the point in the above,
studies have also shown that Avocado can reduce the blood cholesterol levels,
which is good. Therefore, one should really consider adding Avocado into your
daily diet.

Okay back to the drink. This is one of the most concentrated Avocado juice
that I have come across with. It has this smooth, thick and creamy texture
that to some extent I was wondering am I drinking milk. Although this is
not a sweet fruit juice, but it's definitely something worth trying and
getting yourself addicted.

So where is 'A' Village.

'A' village is basically 'Alexandra village hawker centre' and the name of the
stall selling the Avocado Juice shown in this post would be 'King Avocado'.

  • Operating Hours: 8am - 10pm (Closed on Wednesday)
