The last in the line...

I was hanging around this area looking for something to eat before I went for my Rainbow Cake High Tea nearby. I happened to come across this porridge stall that was about to close and I was walking away from the stall when the stall auntie suddenly shouted 'One Last Bowl of Porridge'. I immediately tell the auntie that I would take it and the story begins...

Being the very last bowl of porridge, the stall uncle mentioned that he will be giving
me all the remaining porridge. Therefore, even though I only place an order for the
smallest portion, I think that I ended up getting the biggest portion. :D Besides for
the bowl of porridge, I have also placed an order for a plate of 'Raw Fish Slices'(生鱼片).

After a bit of stirring, it becomes like this.

'Raw Fish Slices'
I only place an order for the second smallest portion but it already comes with
lots of ingredients. There's a generous portion of fresh raw fish slices, lots
of spring onions(a bit too much =.=""), deep fried shallots, chopped red chillies,
sesame seed, shredded ginger and lime. Do remember to squeeze out all the lime
juice to enhance the taste of the 'Raw Fish Slices' and mix the ingredients
thoroughly. Each individual bite comes with nice fragrance of sesame and on top
of that, there's the crispy bits of ginger and shallots. Even though there's a
mixture of butter, spicy and sour taste, but it still couldn't cover the
delicious and fresh taste of the slices of 'Raw Fish'. In other words, you are
paying a relatively low price for a heavenly plate of 'Raw Fish Slices'.

'Fish Porridge'
This is really a very big bowl of porridge. Even though I have beat the raw
egg and stirred thoroughly, the colour of the porridge still remains to be
whitish in colour. Despite of the colour, one could easily identify the various
types of ingredients floating on top of the porridge. There's spring onions,
fried shallots and lots of sliced fish. To some, the porridge over here can
be pretty disappointing especially when the porridge will be boiled to a point
where the grains were almost completely dissolved into the porridge. Therefore,
the porridge over here is pretty thick and gluey. And there's no doubt that the
taste of the porridge over here is pretty good, but whether you can accept the
texture of the porridge or not, that's a completely different issue. As for
myself, the texture of the porridge over here makes it pretty easy to digest and
at the same time, a good alternative for the kids, the sick and the elderly. :D
And at the end of the day, regardless of the texture of the porridge, something
that is delicious will still remains to be very delicious. :P

So where can you give the delicious 'Raw Fish Slices' and 'Porridge' a try?
The name of this stall would be 'Zhen Zhen Porridge'(真真粥品).
It's located inside 'Maxwell Food Centre'.
