The Largest Fried Chicken strikes back...

I had written about this place some time back. And I was passing by the place today and...

Besides for the 'Original' flavour, the 'Spicy' flavour and the 'BBQ Lemon Chicken', it seems that the owner of this stall have roll out a few more new flavours. The new flavours are 'Onion Chicken', 'Garlic Chicken', 'Curry Chicken', 'Seaweed Chicken' and 'Sour Plum Chicken'.

Since I haven't been eating this for a very long time, I decided to give one of the new flavours a try. Therefore... 'Curry Chicken' flavour has been selected. :P The size of the 'Fried Chicken' still remains to be pretty big and the crispy touch still remains to be pretty good. Taste wise, basically it is using the original 'Fried Chicken' as the base and they are sprinkling the Curry powder all over it. Though it ended up to be a bit too powder-ish but the aroma of the Curry powder is pretty nice. Although the taste of the Curry powder happen to be pretty strong , but I still prefer the taste of the original or the spicy flavour, which is also not too powder-ish.

So what is the name of this stall again?

The name of this stall would be 'Hot Star Large Fried Chicken'. It seems to be expanding rapidly over the past year. It currently have 4 outlets in Singapore and they are located at Basement 1 of 'City Square Mall', Level 3 of 'Nex Mall Serangoon', Basement 1 of 'Tampines 1' and Basement 4 of 'ION Orchard'. So why don't you quickly make your way to the outlet closest to you and comment about the new flavours that they are offering over here, in this blog. :P

please Remember To Eat.....

Okay, I think it's time for me to face the truth. I think that I'm spending too much time thinking about what I want to eat and where can I eat it. I had made a trip to the airport for a round of ramen for dinner a few days ago. After that, we decided to proceed to City Square Mall for the biggest fried chicken chop in town. Since the night is still young, we decided to have some desserts nearby...

A bucket of Beancurd that serves 1 Though the beancurd doesn't taste as good as their neighbour, but the taste of it is pretty acceptable. However, the taste of the syrup is crazily sweet. Please do not add too much syrup to the beancurd. By the way, this is probably my first encounter with a bucket of beancurd that serves 1. Their neighbour next door don't even provide such services and this has given me another reason why I should visit this place even much more. XD

'Black Sesame Snow Ice with Red Beans, Nata De Coco, etc'
Frankly speaking, a bucket of beancurd isn't big enough to satisfy my
needs. Therefore, I have also placed an order for this. The mini rice
balls were pretty delicious. The moment I started popping one of them
into my mouth, I just couldn't stop popping the next chewy rice ball
into my mouth. XD Anyway, the taste of the black sesame snow ice is
pretty strong and the crunchy red beans are something that you could
look forward to. :P (And I love red beans. :D)

'Mango Passion Fruit Snow Ice'
This looks 'mangoish'. Not only that the snow is yellow in colour,
the ingredients that are surrounding the snow ice are mostly yellow
in colour. Since I was busy tasting both of my desserts, therefore
I didn't have the time to give this a try, however the looks of it
has given me more reasons to visit this place again. :D

'Mango with Sago'
Didn't got the chance to give this a try too. :P

'???'
This is a free complimentary dessert. It seems that they will be
giving away a free complimentary dessert from time to time. (Though
there seems to be some conditions to it, but it ain't so difficult
to fulfil them, if you are dining in group.) If I'm not mistaken, this
is a dessert made out of almond and some sort of flower tea and the
taste of it is pretty interesting. Well, probably because I'm a
tea lover, therefore I'm getting a bit bias over here. :P

So where can you try all these desserts?

The name of this dessert place would be 'Ji De Chi'(记得吃).
It's located along 'Liang Seah Street'.

Hong Kong Egg Balls...?

I wanted to take a look at one of the Japanese stall over there and I just so so happen to pass by this snack? stall selling egg balls... So what exactly is Hong Kong Egg balls?

'Hong Kong Chicken Floss Egglets'
This is in fact a waffle that was prepared in a funny, bubble filled pans.
Although the taste is pretty much the same as a normal waffle, but what
makes it interesting will be the crispy texture of these egglets. I'm
pretty lucky to say that the packet of egglets that I managed to get are
pretty crispy. I was popping ball after ball, crunching it like a cookie
monster. Though the owners are trying to be innovative but the taste of the
'Chicken Floss' and the egglets just doesn't blend property. Probably the
original egglets will taste even much better than it. :D

Notes:

• Try to finish the whole packet asap. Because as time goes by, the egglets will become softer and softer, which makes it pretty much similar to a normal waffle.

Snail Eater...

Have anyone tried eating a snail before? No? Okay, how about 'Escargot', have you eaten 'Escargot' before? For the past few weeks, I have blog about my stomach taking over my body and this would be one of the instance...

A few days ago, I had...

italian food for dinner.
I wanted to eat 'Escargot' only but ended up ordering and trying
quite a few items on the menu... =="" Stop controlling me 'Stomach'...

'Doria with Chicken Meat'
'Doria' is a rice dish that is pretty much similar to a baked rice.
As for this dish, the top layer of cheese covering the rice isn't too
thick or too sticky. Probably because I'm not a big fan of cheesy food,
therefore I don't like super sticky cheesy food. However, this is pretty
acceptable. It doesn't stick onto the sides of the pan and it's pretty
easy to mix the cheese and the butter rice without any difficulties.
Taste wise, it's pretty nice for me, but if you are a big fan of cheese,
you probably wouldn't love this dish pretty much.

'Spicy Sausage Pizza'
This is probably my first in getting a uncut pizza. I almost have
the urge of taking the uncut pizza and start biting away. Eventually,
I ended up cutting the pizza into 8 and savour it piece by piece.
However, this pizza isn't that great. I personally felt that it
doesn't have sufficient ingredients or sausage and it isn't spicy
enough and the base of the pizza is too hard. :(

'Grilled Butter Escargot'
Probably I only start digging into this dish after I finish
eating the 'Doria' and the pizza so the 'Escargot' ended up to
be too butter-ish... Nevertheless, I still can savour the chewy
'Escargot' and it's pretty nice. :D I can more or less visualise
how delicious this dish is when it's serve. Objective cleared.

Last but not least, a dessert to end a delicious dessert.

'Panna Cotta'
This is a type of pudding and if you like sweet desserts or pudding,
you will definitely love this. As this is made from milk, sugar, etc...
and it's surrounded in a pool of caramel. I think I started to love
sweet things... :P

By the way... as compared to the market, I personally thinks that the price that you are paying for the food items at this place is pretty affordable. On top of the affordable price that I'm paying,
there's no service charge and G.S.T, which gives me another reason why I should visit this place more often... All the items listed in this post can be found at...

A local Japanese Italian Restaurant known as 'Saizeriya'.
The currently have a branch located at places like

Biggest... no.... it should be the largest Fried Chicken in Singapore

One of the infamous finger food of Taiwan would most probably be one piece of humongous Fried Chicken. According to some TV shows that I have seen back then, Taiwanese teenagers can queue up and buy a humongous piece of Fried Chicken that will last them for a whole day... Simply unbelievable...

Time to move on ....

Here comes the biggest Fried Chicken in Singapore...
So how big is big?
I was comparing it with the size of my palm and in terms of the length it's
roughly around 1.75 times of my palm and the width is roughly around 1.25 times
of my palm... (By the way I'm around 1.75 cm in height... and I was stretching
out my hands to the maximum before I can successfully take a full photo of it.)

I know its big but so what... how bout the taste?
This piece of Fried Chicken isn't very salty at all, which I find it good.
I recalled myself having my first bite off a Taiwanese-style Fried Chicken
before and my first impression of it was... 'TOO SALTY'. I couldn't believe
that I would give this a try... and luckily I did else I would never believe
that Fried Chicken can taste so good. The Fried Chicken itself is pretty hot,
crispy and not too dry. I was standing at a corner eating this Fried Chicken
and this is the first time in my entire whole life hoping that this Fried
Chicken can continue to grow on and on... I just can resist it... Yummy :D.

I guess that the owner is pretty proud about his Fried Chicken too...

walking distance from Mustafa and Farrer Park MRT.
