It's too dry don't you think so?

Frankly speaking, I prefer it to be wet rather than being dry. However, every one has their own preferences. Though I still prefer the wet type far more, but there might be a group out there that prefer the dry type. Therefore...

'Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee'
Depending on the skills of the chef, this can ended up to be pretty different. Over
here, the stall owner has managed to fry each and every plate of Noodles to end up
to be pretty dry, in terms of the appearance. This is mainly due to the fact that
all the stock that was added throughout the process of preparing this dish has been
absorbed by the ingredients. As I dig into this dish, despite of the lack in the
amount of ingredients that were given, that's actually a rich taste of the stock
coming from each and every bite. On top of that, despite of the appearance of this
dish, I'm not experiencing a burnt taste and smell, which makes this a pretty tasty dish.

So where can you give the dry version of 'Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee' a good try?

Chilli Mee doesn't just comes with Chilli only...

I was browsing around this food centre and I was coming across this interesting delicacy. Since this is pretty unique and I have a big passion for Noodles, therefore I think I should give this a try too. :)

'Chilli Mee'(Chilli Noodles)
For a start, it doesn't just comes with a bowl of Noodles that is covered with lots
of Chilli only. Besides for the Chilli, it also comes with ingredients like 'Prawns',
'Pork Ribs', slices of 'Fish Cake', slices of 'Hard Boiled Egg', 'Fried Beancurd' and
beansprouts. In fact, the stall owner is pretty generous with the portion of ingredients
that were given. The Noodles are covered with a mountain of ingredients, which is a (+).
Anyway regardless of the fanciful ingredients, the biggest highlight over here
would be the 'Chilli'. The stall owner are preparing the 'Chilli' themselves and
ingredients like 'Belachan', 'Dried Shrimps', 'garlic', etc.. were added into that
'Chilli' throughout the process of making it. Frankly speaking, the taste of the
'Chilli' is pretty thick and tasty but I don't find it spicy enough. (Probably it might
be due to my high level spicy food tolerance, therefore...) However, besides for the
spicy sensation, there's also a good mix of sweetness in every single bit, which is
another (+). Last but not least, the soup that comes with it is pretty savory too.
Even though the queue can get pretty nasty during lunch hours, but it's definitely
worth queueing up for the food over here. :)

SO where can you give the 'Chilli Mee' a good try?
The name of this stall would be 'Chung Cheng'(崇正).

The story of Fishballs...

Although they have only started their business a few months back, but they have made their name loud and clear. Especially to those that are staying near that area.

'Fishball Kway Teow'
It comes with a with bowl of soup and an average bowl of 'Kway Teow'(Rice Noodles).
Looks pretty normal right, but it can get pretty amazing as you dig into the...

'Fishballs' & 'Fishcake'
The 'Fishballs' are pretty amazing. The stall owner that is in his twenties were
boasting that flour isn't added throughout the process of making these 'Fishballs'
out of 'yellow tail fish', that has pretty much explains why these 'Fishballs'
are so chewy and sweet... However, I personally find the slices of 'Fishcake'
to be far more interesting than the 'Fishballs'. Their special blend of 'Fishcake'
are superb. I wonder how many types of vegetables were needed in order to prepare
this delicious 'Fishcake'. By the way, slices of chillies have been added into the
fish paste, which ended up becoming these indulging 'Fishcakes'.

I personally find the 'Kway Teow' and soup a letdown. They are slightly a bit
soggy and in terms of the taste, the 'Fishballs' and 'Fishcakes' are far more
delicious and special. :D

So where can you give this a good try?

A slightly a bit more watery alternative...

When one started to talk about 'Old Airport Road Food Centre' and 'Beancurd' the first thing that might pop in your mind would most likely be the infamous 'Lao Ban Beancurd'(老伴豆花). But...

'Ice cold Beancurd'
there's a similar product a few doors away. But, this alternative
is slightly a bit more watery. But I think the taste of the Beancurd
is far more stronger than those from 'Lao Ban Beancurd'. On top of
that, this stall has a variety of favoured Beancurd and they have an
ongoing promotion which allows you to get 2 original Beancurd for the
price of one. Therefore, if you really have a lot of time and you
really don't mind queueing up for 'Lao Ban Beancurd', go ahead.
But, if you really don't have the time for it, give this Beancurd
a try. But, if you are very hungry, you can get the Beancurd from
this stall, before walking over to 'Lao Ban Beancurd' and eat the
Beancurd from this stall while you queue up at 'Lao Ban Beancurd'.

So what is the name of this stall?

The name of this stall would be 'Happy Boy Soya Bean' and
it's located inside 'Old Airport Road Food Centre'.
