Getting a Mexican Fix...

I love 'Tortilla Chips' and I personally find them to be one of the best potato chips options in Singapore. And it has a very insignificant link to my post today.

'Tortilla Chips' This is crunchy and frankly speaking, I'm not putting the dips into good use. Though I have tried a few slices with the 'Salsa Sauce', but I don't find the taste much better than the original taste of the 'Tortilla Chips'.

'Burritos' You can customize your own type of 'Burritos' over here. Therefore I here's my unique creation with the 'Enchilado Style Add On'. When I scoop and dip the chips inside the interesting sauce and sour cream, there's actually a good mix of sour, fizzy taste inside my mouth. Too bad there isn't a lot of chips to go around. :|

Here's my own creation and gosh, this is a murderous 'Burritos'. Not only it's filling but at the same time, there's a good mix of rice, meat and vegetables ingredients. Being greedy, I have ordered a few additional types of meat to be added to the 'Burritos'. There's 'Prawns', 'Chicken' and 'Pork'. Though with all the ingredients mixing together thoroughly, it's pretty difficult to differentiate the taste of the individual ingredients, but one thing that I had to admit would be the filling sensation that I'm getting from this. Though this is buffet style but just a 'Burritos' like this is a bit too filling as a starter...

'Baja Bowl' After the 'Burritos' that comes with a lot of rice, the next item that I tried was this. This is pretty much similar to the 'Burritos' that I have eaten earlier, but the cooked ingredients over here have a slightly different texture. The vegetables over here are more crunchy and the meat are more chewy as compared to the 'Burritos'.

So where can you give all the 'Mexican' food a good try?

It rhymes. And the post today has something to do with the word R.I.P. And it's actually not one but many many R.I.P... lol

They have populated the walls over here with lots of posters that consist of all these interesting pick up lines. I was pretty amused with some of the posters hanging on the wall over here. :D

'Ribs'...

more 'Ribs'...

so many 'Ribs'... They are not only preparing 1 type of ribs. There's actually 5 different types of 'Ribs' that one can try over here. And I have given all 5 different types of 'Ribs' a good try already. :D 'Signature Hickory BBQ Sticky Bones' If you are into thick smoked 'Ribs', this is the thing for you. Not only it's coated with this thick BBQ sauce, the overall taste of the 'Ribs' are pretty solid too. And frankly speaking, the sauce itself is a bit too thick for me and in fact it's so thick that I think I will have problem finishing 1/2 a slab of this.... :| 'Garlic BBQ Spare Ribs' Out of all the 5 different flavors that they are offering over here, I guess this is the easiest to be accepted by everyone. And I don't find it spicier and as funky as the other flavors that they are offering over here. 'Tuscan Baked Spicy Spare Rib' This is the most funkiest version of 'Ribs' that I have ever tried till date. Probably because I myself isn't a big fan of Tomatoes for a start. But as compared to the taste of the 'Ribs' the taste of the 'Tomatoes' are far too overpowering, which to a certain extent makes me wonder what am I eating? A chewy 'Tomatoes' or ...? 'Spicy Asian BBQ Spare Ribs' Though it might look fiery but the appearance can be deceiving. I'm getting the nice sweet taste of the BBQ sauce but I'm not getting the fiery sensation that I'm expecting. Pretty disappointing for a 'Spicy Asian BBQ Spare Ribs'. Last but not least would be my favorite, which is... 'Smoked Peppercorn Spare Ribs' The 'Ribs' comes with this nice blend of both sweet and spicy taste, topped with a very nice aroma too. Personally, I find this the best out of all 5 flavors. It's giving the nice spicy sensation that I like, topped with a moderate level of sweetness, which makes this a pretty big (+). The texture of all the 'Ribs' over here are pretty tender and not forgetting the juicy and chewy meat that goes around the bones. In fact, probably it's due to the fact that I'm ordering 1/4 slab at a time, therefore I don't have any difficulty ripping the meat and the bones apart since they are served 'fresh' too. :D

All the 'Ribs' sums up to a 'Boney Hill'...

'Red Skin Mashed Potato' If you are hoping that this would ended up to be pretty much similar to those that you are getting out there, you will be so so disappointed. Slightly a bit more dry than those that comes with a sauce, the ones over here has a thicker texture and it's much more thicker in taste too. And not forgetting much more filling too. =.="" But it comes with the skin too, which makes this pretty indulging.

'Corn Bread' They should categorize this as a 'Muffin' rather than a bread. The fluffy texture that goes on top and the nice sweet fillings that rest at the bottom, simply makes this a pretty interesting combination. Not too bad for a 'Bread'. :D

'Soup of the Day' Seems like a rich vegetable soup to me, but I personally find the next soup to be far more superior than this. And superior over here doesn't mean that it's richer in taste, I find the texture to be much more better too.

'Mushroom Soup' The creamy soup that comes with a rich mushroom taste simply makes every single scoop better and better. I wanted to go for a second helping but unfortunately this is the last few bowls of the day, which is kinda sad. :(

'Coleslaw' I wanted something refreshing and cooling to act as a full stop to my pleasant dining experience over here and this has fit in perfectly. Though this still couldn't replace a scoop of ice cream completely, but it isn't that bad either. :)

So where can you give all these delicious mains and sides a good try?

The heaven of Skewered Food?

I love to eat Japanese Food. Therefore, from time to time, I will keep a lookout for new Japanese restaurants to try, and once I have the time, I will give some of them a good try. Therefore as for today...

'Cabbage with Japanese salt dressing' The cabbage slices over here are not only salty, they are pretty crunchy too. Not too bad for a start.

'Fried Garlic' The size of these 'Fried Garlic' reminds me of sweets. And this is the taste that guys would probably like. It's bitter and as you started chewing away, there will be a nice fragrance bursting inside your mouth.

Besides for the appetizers that are listed on their menu, there's also an interesting list of side dishes too. For example, there's 'Karaage' (Deep Fried Chicken), 'Chawanmushi', 'Gyoza', 'Hiyayakko'(Cold Tofu), etc... And the specialities over here are...

'Tsukune' It's not the 'Tsukune' but the... (However, the rounded-shape 'Tsukune' balls are pretty delicious. Hidden inside a layer of sweet sauce, are the juicy and chewy meat, which is worth a big (+).)

'Skewered Food' Besides for the 'Tsukune', they have also listed a big variety of 'Skewered Food'. There's vegetables choices, seafood choices and most importantly, there's a big selections of 'Skewered Food', which is made up of meaty and vegetables ingredients. On top of that, the fatty chunks of chewy meat and pretty good too. :P

'Fuwa Fuwa Nabeyaki Udon' The creamy Fluffy texture of the 'Udon' noodles are a (+), but if you are thinking of eating more 'Skewered Food', I would strongly encourage you not to order this dish. Especially when the portion of this dish is slightly a bit too big and filling.

After giving so many dishes a good try, it's time to give the 'Desserts' a good try. And the sweet ice cream would be one of the best choices listed on their menu.

Ice Cream Buffet !?!?!?!?!

These few days the hot and humid weather is simple getting from bad to worst. And I just simply couldn't get rid of the idea of eating scoops of ice cream out of my mind.

'Ice Cream Buffet' And the search for 'Ice Cream Buffet' begins. They have pop in more than 10 different flavors of ice cream over here and taste wise, there's the common flavors like 'Strawberry', 'Vanilla', 'Chocolate', they also have special flavors like 'Lychee', 'Coconut', etc... On top of that, the texture of the ice cream varies too, which makes this far too good for a 'Ice Cream Buffet'.

So where can you give the 'Ice Cream Buffet' a good try?

The name of this place would be 'maple loft cafe'. It's located inside 'Tanjong Pagar CC'.

Rice Buffet....?

Have you come across a rice buffet before? Yes? How about a 'Chilli' buffet...? And this has something to do with the post today.

'Nasi Lemak' Pretty ordinary looking right? But, do you know that over here they are providing unlimited refills of 'Nasi Lemak Rice' over here? On top of that, they are also providing 2 different types of 'Sambal' chilli over here. There's the 'sweet' Sambal and the 'spicy' Sambal. And the best part? You can have unlimited helpings to the 'Sambal' chilli too. Frankly speaking, these 'Sambal' chilli are pretty tasty. I could easily wipe out a whole plate of rice, just by helping myself to the 'Sambal' chilli. Though they have different prices for the different types of ingredients over here, but I have decided to go ahead with the 'Fried Egg', 'Fried Fish', 'Chicken Wing', 'Peanuts & Ikan Bilis' and 'Cucumber'. The ingredients over here are pretty okay, the 'Chicken Wing' ain't too oily, and it still has this crispy coating that goes around the whole thing. And these ingredients can easily blend in with the taste of the 'Sambal' chilli too. Though the 'Sambal' are tasty but I personally find them not spicy enough for me... (And do not doubt me, I have actually tried both types of 'Sambal'. Though it matches the name that they have given them but my tolerance for Spicy food is pretty high. :P)

'Power Burger' Pretty much resembles a 'Ramly Burger', but over here it's known as a 'Power Burger'.

Nope, there isn't any vegetables. There's only a patty wrapped inside a fried egg, which goes inside a normal bun. This makes me wonder if I can request for a second patty to be added, because 1 patty is simply not sufficient to fill up all the empty space in my stomach. Taste wise, this is pretty meaty. Though you can choose the type of patty that goes inside the 'Power Burger', but it's not meaty enough. Though I still think that it still lose out to a normal 'Ramly Burger' that comes with a bit of veggie. :D

So where can you give all these stuff a good try?

The name of this place would be 'Nasi Lemak Kukus'. It's located near 'Little India MRT', along 'Selegie Road'.

Mixing your own drinks and dessert at a affordable price...

I love eating. If eating can be registered as a hobby, I would gladly do so. And if you are a smart eater, you can easily find great places that can not only satisfied your appetite, your taste bud and at the same time it's wallet friendly too. :D

'Spicy Chicken Set' Ranging from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc... they are offering different types of set meals over here. Since this is the first time, I'm coming here I decided to go with this set meal.

'Kimchi' The side dish that comes with this meal would be a bowl of 'Kimchi'. Nicely marinated, the bowl of 'Kimchi' isn't too spicy and at the same time pretty tasty. Too bad the portion is kinda small, but as a side dish, it has definitely served it's purpose and bring up my appetite too.

'Spicy Chicken' Surrounded with a nice pool of spicy sauce and at the same time covered with ingredients like Sesame and Spring Onions, the succulent and tasty plate of chicken is a pretty good deal. With this plate of chicken, one can easily wipe out 2 or more bowls of rice. (It's just kinda sad that they ain't offering free flow of rice over here.) However...

'Coffee float' Though they don't have free flow of rice over here, but they do have free flow of beverages and ice cream over here. For a start, I was trying out one of the special menu for coffee floats over here. How should I put it, though I'm getting both a sweet and a bitter taste, but this just simply couldn't catch my attention. Though I would really want to give tea float a try... but definitely not after a unique coffee float.

The set meal over here not only comes with free flow of hot/cold beverages. It also comes with free flow ice cream too. Besides offering several big tubs of ice cream of different flavors, they also have a machine that gives you the normal soft serve ice cream too. Since there isn't a time restriction, therefore you can really sit here the whole enjoying the free flow of beverages and ice cream and chill the whole afternoon away. :D

So where can you give the food a good try?

Overdose of Chicken Wings

Are you looking for a place to chill out and have a good chat over unlimited finger food? This might be a good alternative for you...

'Fries' Pretty boring for a start. Even without salt, this isn't solid/crunchy to my liking. But, looking it from a different perspective, 'Fries' isn't their specialty... Their signature stuff over here are the...

Left: 'Yangnyum Chicken' Middle: 'Curry Up Chicken' Right: 'Spicy Up Chicken' I will start with the most unlikable one first. (The one that displease me the most. =.=) The first one would be the 'Curry Up Chicken'. Since they are merely pouring the 'Curry gravy' over the 'Fried Chicken', hence the taste of the 'curry' didn't blend into the meat completely. Therefore, I have listed this to be the first out of the three items. The second one would be the 'Spicy Up Chicken'. If you are looking for 'Spicy Chicken Wings', you will be very disappointed. The 'chicken wings' ain't spicy enough, but the non-greasy yet crispy skin combined with the tender meat is worth a big (+), but this isn't as good as the... 'Yangnyum Chicken'. Coated with a sweet and spicy sauce, this is much more enjoyable than the other 2. Though, I'm not getting the fiery sensation but the crispy skin is really very very good. Despite of the fact that my fingers are getting pretty sticky, but it couldn't stop me from wiping out a plate of 'Yangnyum Chicken' within minutes. :D Oh, by the way, the meat of the 'chicken wings' are pretty tender too. This is pretty much similar to the 'Spicy Up Chicken' except for the tasty skin.

'Andong Chicken' If all the 'Fried Chicken' are getting a bit too much, you can give this 'Chicken Stew' a try. I personally like the vegetables that comes with it. Though the chicken that comes with this dish isn't big enough but the spicy stew is pretty interesting. I wonder if they would provide a bigger portion if I'm dining in a much more bigger group.

'Yangnyum Chicken' Like what I have mentioned earlier, this is pretty good and yummy, but this can get pretty boring and sickening when you dig into the 5th or 6th one. I would strongly encourage you to dig into different types of chicken and try not to stick to 1 type of chicken only.

By The Way:

• If you are a big eater, you can go for the 'Chicken Buffet' that they are offering over here. You can place unlimited orders for selected items on the menu and that can be pretty appealing to big eaters like me. :P Do call in to find out more about the 'Chicken Buffet;.
• One of the signatures over here would be stuff like the different types of 'Soju Cocktails', especially the 'Watermelon Soju' that was served in a 'Watermelon'. I was looking at it and it looks pretty stunning.
• Do try to make reservations before you turn up at the restaurant. Otherwise the queue can be pretty nasty, especially when you are hanging out in a big group.

Not enough...

What is not enough? That would be the size of our stomach. Actually, we had a Karaoke session a few months ago. After that, we decided to settle our dinner at a place nearby...

We ended up choosing this. The name of this 'Japanese Buffet Restaurant' would be 'Kiseki'. It's located on level 8 of 'Orchard Central'.

The wide selection of food over here is worth a very big (+).

For example, there's 'Chilled Seafood',

'fried small bites',

'Dessert', 'Fruits', etc... They even have 'Soy Milk' over here too.

Even the 'beverages' selection over here can be pretty amazing. There's 'Tea', 'Coffee', 'Juices', 'Soft Drinks', etc...

...However, the tables here are slightly a bit too small for the 4 of us. But 1 thing that I would like to compliment would be the choices over here. There's 'Oden'(Boiled ingredients served in a broth), 'Gyoza'(Dumplings), 'Hot Pot', etc... In other words, though the food over here isn't super fantastic, but there's lots of choices for you to choose, which is pretty satisfying. The biggest weakness would be the size of our stomach isn't big enough to outbeat all the different choices. Isn't it great if a human being can have 2 interchangeable stomachs, then you would have more than enough space to give all the different interesting food options out there a good try? Note: I personally find the service of this restaurant to be pretty good. When we were placing an order for a glasses of water after 10pm, the waiter actually went down and bought us bottles of water for free, which is a pretty rare sight nowadays.
