Zebra Fish?

One of the biggest reason, why I loved dishes that comes with a big bowl of soup is mainly due to the fact that I can save a bit of money, since I don't need to spend an extra sum of money on a beverage. (Although this is kinda like betting...)

'Black White Fish Soup'
Before I proceed forward introducing the bowl of fish soup itself, I would like to
compliment the stall owner for the type of chilli sauce that they have prepared over here.
Besides for the normal plate of sliced chilli, they have also provided a special type of
chilli that is pretty much similar to a Thai chilli sauce. Although it's slightly a bit
too watery, but the taste of the chilli can actually blend with the taste of the
fish slices pretty well.

As for the bowl of fish soup, although it's given the name of 'Black White Fish Soup',
but in fact, it's actually a mixture of raw fish slices and fried fish slices. Besides
for fish slices, the stall owner has also thrown in lots of vegetables into the soup.
As for the fish slices, I personally find all of it pretty fresh and delicious. As for
the fried fish, it didn't ended up to be too soggy, which happens to be one of the
biggest problem to 'fried fish soup' most of the time. As for the taste of the soup,
it wasn't too pepperish, which adds another (+) to the overall dining experience.

So where can you give the 'fish soup' a try?
The name of this stall would be 'Ichiban Seafood Sliced Fish Soup'(一級棒海鮮魚片湯).
It's located inside 'Seah Im Food Centre', which is located near
'Harbourfront' MRT Station and opposite 'Vivo City'.

Egg or Carrot Cake

Although I already had a heavy meal for lunch but I still have a bit of time and at the same time, my stomach still have room for a bit of food. Therefore...

'White Carrot Cake'
As I was passing by this stall selling 'Carrot Cake', I suddenly recalled something.
When I was having my dinner with my friend a few weeks back, he had mentioned about
the 'carrot cake' of this place. Since I was passing by this stall, I decided
to give the 'Carrot Cake' over here a try.

Although the 'Carrot Cake' over here is relatively cheap but the portion that you
will be getting is relatively small too. Taste wise, it's pretty much the same as
all the good 'Carrot Cake' out there that comes with a nice fragrant of radish.
However, the taste of the fried egg were far more richer than the taste of the
radish. In fact, to some extent, I think that you should be calling this a plate
of 'Fried Egg Cake' rather than 'Carrot Cake'. :P By the way, if I'm given the
choice to choose either a burger from one of the biggest fast food chain in
Singapore or the 'Carrot Cake', I will choose the 'Carrot Cake', since both are
the same price, but the taste of the 'Carrot Cake' is far more delicious. :P

So where can you give the 'Carrot Cake' a try?
The name of this stall would be 'Fried Kuay Teaw Mee'(炒粿條麵).
It's located inside 'Seah Im Food Centre', which is located near
'Harbourfront' MRT Station and opposite 'Vivo City'.

Is this the fastest Hokkien Mee Uncle around?

I think recently I have been spending too much time travelling to different places trying out all sorts of food. Therefore the amount of photos of good food are accumulating rapidly and by looking at the speed that I'm blogging about food. How I wish that I could blog...

'Hokkien Mee'
as fast as the 'Hokkien Mee' Uncle of this stall. The uncle was boasting
that he can cook 40 plates of 'Hokkien Mee' within 30 minutes. For one
moment he was picking and preparing the ingredients that are needed in
preparing and cooking a plate of 'Hokkien Mee' and in less than 2 minutes,
'Voila', a plate of cooked 'Hokkien Mee' had appeared in front of me.
Seriously, I wouldn't doubt his record of cooking and preparing 40 plates
of 'Hokkien Mee' within 30 minutes when he's much more younger.
By the way, fast doesn't mean that the food isn't fully cooked. I can
ensure you that the food is cooked and served properly.

As for the 'Hokkien Mee' itself, it's relatively cheap. It's probably one
of the cheapest plate of 'Hokkien Mee' that I have ever seen. For a price
of S$3, you are getting lots of ingredients. Though the overall taste of
the 'Hokkien Mee' is pretty normal, but looking at the amount of waiting
time needed and price that you are paying, this is definitely worth trying.
By the way, though the sambal chilli isn't spicy enough, but somehow, I
think that both the taste of the sambal chilli and the 'Hokkien Mee' blend
together nicely, which is another (+).

The name of this stall would be 'Cheng Ji Chao Xia Mian Hao Jian'(成記炒蝦麵蠔煎).
It's located inside 'Seah Im Food Centre', which is located near
'Harbourfront' MRT Station and opposite 'Vivo City'.

Chicken Rice Penyet

Ayam Penyet, is pretty much similar to a plate of Chinese Chicken Rice, but prepared in an Indonesian style. Therefore, the main topic today will be 'Ayam Penyet'. :)

Here comes 'Chicken Rice Penyet'.
I love the rice. The type of rice that they are using is pretty much
similar to the rice that you are getting in a plate of Chicken Rice.
The fragrance coming out from the rice is much much better than normal
white rice. (I got to admit that I'm not a rice guy. I like Noodles
more than rice.:P) Besides for the fragrance rice, the part that you
can add unlimited portion of the crispy bits would be a big plus. :D
Although the taste of the chicken is pretty normal but looking at the
portion that you are getting, and the non spicy chilli that blends
pretty well with it, I think that this isn't such a bad meal after all. :D
(In fact, I think that the portion of rice that I'm getting isn't
sufficient enough to go with the chicken. Hence I ended up finishing
the chicken without getting any help from the rice... =="")

Where to get this plate of 'Chicken Rice Penyet'?

The name of the food stall will be 'Aspirasi Food Stall'.
It is located in 'Seah Im Food Centre', which is beside 'Harbourfront Interchange.'
