If you have a passion for spicy food, it's a must for you to try...

Ma La Kong Jian '麻辣空間' located at Geylang Lorong 13. Being a crazy eater of spicy food, this was probably the most craziest Ma La steamboat pot that I had tasted. Best of all, I only place an order for the 2nd most spiciest 'Ma La' steamboat pot of the restaurant and I can already sense the superb spicy taste of the 'Ma La' soup. On top of the spicy taste, just having a few bites on the ingredients from the 'Ma La' steamboat pot and I can already feel my tongue turning numb.

As usual my style, here are the photos taken from the restaurant.

This is the steamboat pot that we had tried that day. On the left its the 2nd most spiciest 'Ma La' soup that the restaurant is serving and on the right, it's the not so important Chicken Herbal soup.

This is how the pot looks like after eating for close to 2 hours.
Basically, this restaurant had provided a large variety of raw meat.
For example, Fish, Chicken, Chicken Sausage that will change into the
of a octopus after cooking, beef, mutton, prawns... etc.
They have also provided a large spread of vegetables and cooked food.
Too bad they didn't provide noodles otherwise eating noodles using
the 'Ma La' steamboat pot would be a heavenly delicacy.

This how the restaurant looks side from the outside.

This is how the steamboat pot looks like,
doesn't the amount of red color in the 'Ma La' soup looks challenging?

Take my advice, try the 2nd most spiciest 'Ma La' soup before trying the highest grade.
Otherwise you will regret for not talking my advice seriously.
(Unless you are a native from Si Chuan, China otherwise don't do something crazy.)
Whahahahahahahahahaha.

A healthy dessert that taste heavenly - Guilinggao(龟苓膏)also known as Tortoise Jelly/Turtle Jelly

After having dinner at the Spicy Shanghai restaurant, we decided to try the dessert store nearby.

Here are the photos taken at the store.

This is the name of the store. It's known as Gongheguan (恭和馆).

Here are some of the photo frames that were hanging on the wall.
On the left, we have the menu of the store and their speciality was Guilinggao.
If you had taken a close look at the menu, they had a few different variants of Guilinggao. They had the original Guilinggao(龟苓膏), Peppermint Guilinggao(薄荷龟苓膏) and Pearl Guilinggao(珍珠龟苓膏).

Dispite having so many items on the menu, I decided to give the original
Guilinggao a try. The taste of the Guilinggao was very thick and it taste
much much better than any other Guilinggao that I had tasted so far.
(Although, I wasn't a fan of Guilinggao but the Guilinggao of this store
were fantastic. I'm loving it. :P)

This was one of the photo frame hanging on the wall. Although everything was written in Mandarin, the description in the photo had written about the benefits of eating Guilinggao. In fact, they had also framed up a photo with the benefits of having Guilinggao written in English but I had completely forgotten to take a camera shot of the photo frame. :P

So where is this store located?
It's located between Lorong 11 and Lorong 13 of Geylang.
And it's located pretty near the Chinese temple near Lorong 11 of Geylang.

A Spicy Shanghai Cuisine Restaurant: '上海宋记香辣蟹'

The type of Chinese food cuisine that this restaurant is currently serving is much more closer to a 'Sze Chuan' style as compared to a 'Shanghai' style. What means me think that the cuisine style is much closer to a 'Sze Chuan' style? This is because why we thought of the word 'Sze Chuan', it's pretty common that an individual will related the word to various kinds of spicy food. (I like spicy food.:D) And some of the highly recommended dishes of the restaurant were pretty Spicy. Yummy Yummy.

Enough talking... let's move on to the pictures. :D

Name of the dishes in this picture:
Top Left: 凉拌黄瓜
Top Right: 干煸四季豆
Bottom Left: ??
Bottom Right: 口水鸡
The starters were very delicious and just a plate of 干煸四季豆,
I can finish numerous bowls of rice already.

Name of this dish: 辣子鸡
When I saw this dish, I was surprised to see a plate full of
red-colored chilli's and my eyes were so so close to be popping out.
I thought that this was a fear facter game or something.
But the taste of the chicken was fantastic... I like :D

Name of this dish: 宋记香辣蟹
THe taste of the crab was pretty normal and I think the
vegetables that comes with it taste much better than the crab.

Name of this dish: ??
I don't remember the name of this dish but this was
probably one of the dishes that we have ordered and
at the same time not so spicy at all.

Name of this dish: ??
The main ingredients of this dish were mainly corn.
It's like a big pancake-shaped sweetcorn tempura.
Pretty nice and crispy. (And non-spicy.)

Name of this dish: 芽饭
This is pretty similar to the normal Chinese fried rice, but
the taste were very different. (I'm not going to describe the
taste here as everyone's opinion can be very different.)

Name of this dish: 冷面
This is something similar to a plate of '阳春面' with an minimum
amount of ingredients, but the taste is very good.
If no one's there to stop me, I might be sitting in a corner
ordering and eating 3 or more plates of this noodles.

Name of this dish: ??
Although this dish is slightly a bit spicy, but the taste
of the vegetables reminds me of the jelly-like vegetables
that you will have during a Chinese wedding dinner.
(Anyone can help me out here?)

Name of this dish: 炒马铃薯丝
Probably after eating all the spicy food,
one would find this dish to be pretty tasteless. :P

This is the how the interior of the 2nd floor of the restaurant
looks like. It can be pretty during weekdays and weekends, hence
I would highly recommend you to make a reservation a few days in
advance before turning up at the restaurant.

This would be the address of the restaurant.
It's located at the corner of Geylang Lorong 13.

Note:
Please help me to fill in the names of the dishes if you know them.
