Taking a step back, giving the ...

First branch of the infamous 'Soup Master'(老火汤) in Singapore a try. Ever since I have given the branch located at 'Bugis Junction' a try, I have been looking forward to give the oldest branch in Singapore a try. Therefore here goes for nothing. :D

'Buddha Jump Over the Wall'
Though it has been portray to be a high class delicacy, this place have
definitely proven that 'Buddha Jump Over the Wall' can be an affordable
dish too. With the price that you are paying, you will be given a
relatively big tonic of 'Buddha Jump Over the Wall' soup, which is
filled with all sorts of ingredients. In fact I was doing a bit of
stirring and you can easily identify ingredients like 'Sea Cucumber'
, 'Abalone', 'Chicken', etc...

Since the name of this stall is 'Soup Master', I shall be focusing
more on the taste of the soup. Though the ingredients are pretty
delicious, but the taste isn't as fantastic as the soup. (Anyway,
if you really know how to eat, you would naturally know that when
it comes to Chinese soup that requires a long time boiling, the taste
of the ingredients tend to get more and more diluted, whereby the
taste of all the ingredients will be adsorbed into the soup.)
Before moving any further, I would like to appraise them for the
method that they are using in preparing the respective soups.
Rather than preparing the respective soup tonics upfront, they are
preparing the soups in respective big metal pots. This is a pretty
dangerous move, especially there are chances where you will be
getting lots of leftover soup. But by using this method, the taste
of the soup would definitely taste much better than tonics that
were prepared upfront. (Especially when there are stalls that will
heat up 5 or 6 different kinds of tonic soup in a steamer and the
taste of each and every one of them will ended up pretty bad.)

Taste wise, the taste of the soup is pretty thick and pretty tasty.
(But I wonder if the stall is providing free refillable services for
all the soup... :?) Anyway, I would strongly encourage you to give this
stall a try, if you really want to have some good soup at a relatively
affordable price.

So where can you give the soup a try?

The oldest branch of 'Soup Master'(老火汤) was located on the
2nd level of 'Chinatown Complex Food Centre'.
