Pretty much similar to their neighbour...

In fact, that same section of the hawker centre is flooded with similar stalls specializing in similar dish. And that would be...

the mega 'fish head'.
'Preserved Beans Sauce Steamed Fish Head'(醬蒸魚頭)
As compared to their nearest competitor located nearby, they are preparing
more than 2 different types of 'Fish Head' dishes over here. Before moving
on to the dish itself, I want to spend a bit of time talking about 'Fish
Head' dishes in Singapore. Over here, a 'Fish Head' doesn't mean that you
would be getting the 'Head' only. Usually it's a big 'Fish Head' that comes
with lots of meat. If it's ain't big, look for places that offer the bigger
ones. :P

Anyway, as for the 'Song Fish Head' dish the other day, the gravy for a
start looks kinda orangy and the taste of the gravy taste kinda funny.
Though I'm getting the sweet taste of the 'Preserved Beans' but there's
something else on top of the sweet taste. In fact, I happened to pop by the
some time back, but rather than giving the same dish a try again, this time
round, I ended up carrying a packet of 'Hong Kong Style Steamed Fish Head'
home. Trust me, in terms of the texture and the taste of the gravy,
the 'Hong Kong Style Fish Head' is far more superior. Meat wise, though the
portion is great, but the taste of the 'Fish Head' isn't super fantastic.
In fact, the taste is pretty normal and they are actually relying on the
gravy to boast the overall taste of the meat to a higher level. However,
price wise, this is pretty reasonable and attractive as the portion can
easily satisfy the stomach of a group of 2, unless you are a big eater
like me. :P

So where can you give the 'Fish Head' a go?
The name of this stall would be 'An Ji'(安記).
It's located inside 'Chinatown Complex Food Centre'.
