Who is Uncle Bern?

Some might wonder who is 'Uncle Bern'? Though most of us might have no idea who he is. But you might have eaten some of his earlier creations ('Botak Jones') before.

"Big Bern’s Fish & Chips"
Since I am given the chance to choose my own sides, I decided to go with the
'French Fries' and 'Double Baked Cheese Potatoes'(Mashed). For a start, the
'Potatoes' are pretty interesting. It also comes with onions which pretty
much explains why there's a crunchy touch on top of the mushy potatoes
texture. Not too bad for a start. The French Fries that comes with it are
pretty crunchy too. Though the 'Tartar sauce' isn't crunchy and delicious
enough, but the slices of 'Fried Fish' are worth a big (+). Not only they
are coated with a nice layer of bread crumbs, the flesh that was wrapped
inside it are pretty firm too. And not forgetting the generous portion
that comes with it. :D Not too bad for a dinner. :)

Their menu looks pretty interesting too, especially when they are offering a
much more bigger selection of food as compared to 'Botak Jones'.

So where can you give the food a good try?
The name of this stall would be "Big Bern's American Grill".

Quite a variety....

Though I don't dine at a vegetarian stall very often and most likely there's going to be the same few dishes that would be popping up in my mind when I'm talking about 'Vegetarian Food' and 'Hawker Centre'... But...

'Vegetarian Economical Meal'
I was getting half a portion of Fried 'Bee Hoon' and 'Kway Teow' as a base.
And on top of that, I'm getting ingredients like Mock Meat, Mock 'Char Siew'
and 'Popiah'. Even though, as compared to the usual 'real' stuff, the taste
of these dishes might lose out a lot, but they are actually preparing quite
a vast variety of dishes over here. There's 'Curry Vegetables', 'Potatoes',
'Long Beans', etc... And most of them are freshly prepared. Not too bad for
a stall that was hidden in a 'Hawker Centre'. Besides for the above, you can
also order 'Cze Char' dishes over here too. Though they don't have a very
big 'Cze Char' menu but, they do have the common dishes. :)

So where can you give the dishes a good try?
The name of this stall would be "Mei Jing Vegetarian Food(美景美食)".

Maybe the owner's surname is Lim?

The weather is a bit too hot for you to handle? How about a dessert or two to beat the heat?

'Beancurd'
Though they are selling the sweet and smooth beancurd over here, but that isn't the
most interesting point about the dessert over here.

'Grass Jelly with Gingko Nuts'
Dessert wise, they are only selling a few different types. But on top of the basic
deliverable, you can top up several other types of ingredients to it. There's stuff
like 'gingko nuts', 'ginger', 'attap seeds', etc... Though I loved the bitter taste
'Grass Jelly', but I don't mind adding a few other types of ingredients and add an
additional taste to it.

So where can you give the desserts over here a good try?

This isn't Curry lor....

That's correct. This isn't Curry. This is merely...

'Satay Bee Hoon(Rice Vermicelli)'
Come to think of it, this is actually a type of fusion food. Especially when
one would be dipping the satay stick into the 'Satay Gravy'. Frankly speaking,
I don't think the people living in the past would believed that such an
delicacy would appear in the modern world.

For a start, the overall texture of this plate of 'Bee Hoon' is slightly a
bit too watery. Though it does comes with a light 'Satay gravy', but it's
simply not nutty enough. But it terms of ingredients, it does comes with a
lot of choices. There's ingredients like 'Kang Kong', 'Cockles', 'Cuttlefish',
a bit of meaty ingredients but.... 'Pork Liver' is missing. Though the sweet
taste is there, but as mentioned earlier, the nutty sensation is missing.
Even though the generous portion of ingredients have make things better but
in overall, it's pretty normal only. :|

So where can you give the 'Satay Bee Hoon' a try?
