Best Curry in Japan?

I'm a Singaporean and ever since I was a child, I had a crazy passion for spicy food. Therefore, I'm not a big fan of Japanese Curry, which is kinda sweet. However, there are exception and that would be...

'Hida Pork Cutlet Curry Rice'
This plate of thick Japanese Curry is both sweet and spicy.
On top of the delicious Curry, the crispy Pork Cutlet and the vegetables are
amazingly good too and it can blend with the taste of the Japanese Curry pretty well.

'Salad'
All the Curry Rice set meal of this place comes with a bowl of refreshing salad too.

In fact, you can get several types of Curry Rice Set meal over here.
For example: 'Home-made Sausages Curry Rice', 'Hot Spring Egg Curry Rice', etc...
The photo above shows the 'Home-made Sausages Curry Rice' of this place.

This Curry Rice restaurant is located near the JR Takayama Station
and name of the restaurant would be 'Jakson'.

I personally find the decorations of the restaurant to be pretty cute.
Besides for Japanese Comics, or more commonly known as 'Manga',
the owner have also used toys as a decorative element in the restaurant.

Oily cake

An oily cake seems to be a complete joke. However, such things do exist. Introducing...

an 'Oyster Cake'(福州蠔餅).
Although the size of the oyster that was used in this side dish isn't as big
as a 'Hiroshima Oyster', but by adding a bit of spring onions, a bit of minced
meat and deep fry all the ingredients together, you are actually creating
something that was pretty unique. Though this 'cake' was pretty oily, but
the taste was pretty interesting. Especially, when you can blend the taste
of the 3 main ingredients(Spring onions, minced meat, oyster) together nicely.
However, the drawback would be the fact that you have to eat it while it's
hot and crispy. Trust me, you seriously wouldn't want to eat it when it's
pretty cold and the texture of it is pretty soft. >.<"""

(Which reminds me, this is suppose to a pretty common dish back then, however
it seems to be pretty rare nowadays... sigh... I kinda miss the 'Oyster Cake'
stall located at Maxwell Market already.)

So where can you give this oily 'cake' a try?

Fishing together...?

I'm not going to write about fishing activity, so don't worry about it. However, the post today would be closely related to fish. Here comes...

a delicious bowl of fish soup with a bowl of white rice.
I knew that this photo isn't big enough. Therefore...
Here's a bigger photo of the fish soup.
As you can see, most of the fish soup out there are prepared with either raw
or cooked sliced fish. However, the fish soup over here are prepared with
fish chunks and lots of vegetables. In fact, the ingredients that were given
in this single bowl of fish soup are more than enough to feed 2 individuals.
(Okay, I knew that I'm not your typical average joe. :|)
Taste wise, the fish soup is pretty tasty and at the same time not too oily
or salty. On top of that, despite of the large quantities of fishes, the
fishes were handled properly, hence it were pretty fresh and aren't overcook
at all. :D In fact, I personally felt that this simple bowl of fish soup have
everything that you need. As for the drawback, it would most likely be the fish
bones, however...

So where can you give this fish soup a try?
The name of the stall is 'Piao Ji Fish Porridge'(標記鱼粥).
It's located on level 2 of 'Amoy Street Food Centre'.
