Another store to get all your HERSHEY’S

On top of the 2 slightly a bit more inaccessible HERSHEY'S stores in Singapore, here comes a 3rd one.

Giant HERSHEY’S bar character.

Especially with the Christmas season around the corner, you probably want to pop by the 3rd HERSHEY'S store in Singapore and do some shopping. Besides for the chocolates that HERSHEY'S were famous for, they also sell HERSHEY'S merchandise like shirts, mugs, caps, etc... As for why this store was much more accessible than the earlier 2 stores in terms of the location would be due to the fact that this store was located at CityLink Mall, also known as the underground pass from City Hall MRT to suntec city.

So why not hurry doen to the store and do some shopping now... :D

Introducing Power Chendol

If you haven't tasted Power Chendol before, it naturally means that you have never tasted a real Chendol before. Let me show you how does it look like...

Power Chendol
Ingredients are Ice, Red Bean, Green Colored Jelly, Coconut milk and sugar.
The taste of this Power Chendol is so crazily sweet that I think having it
once in every three months should be more than enough for me.

Red Beans and Peanuts Ice
Unlike all the other Red Beans and Peanuts Ice out there in the market,
this place uses blanched peanuts as one of the ingredients for the dessert.
I think this the peanuts used for this dessert taste much better than the
usual chunky peanuts that dessert stalls have been using. It blends with the
Red Beans much much better and this sort of reminds me of another delicacy in
Singapore, which is peanut soup... Yummy.

Mount Fuji
Why Mount Fuji? Initially, I have mistaken the green color on this dessert
with the rice jelly that we are getting in a normal bowl of Chendol.
But I was wrong, the green color were actually Green Tea, which sort of
explains the reason of giving this dessert that name of Mount Fuji. ==""

Volcano
Just by taking a look at this dessert and you can easily
understand why this dessert was given the name 'Volcano'.
Basically its a mountain of ice topped with red beans
followed by condensed milk.

So where is this stall located?

The stall is located at 'ABC Brickworks Market/Food Centre'.
Besides for this dessert stall, delicacies like
'Chao Zhou' fish balls, Fried Hokkien Prawn noodles,
Satay Bee Hoon, etc can be found in the same market too.

Here comes another 'ball'...

What are the fish balls that you can usually get from a food centre or a market? Most of the time it will either be a normal fish ball made out from fish or a 'Fu Zhou' fish ball made from fish and has minced pork filling within the fish ball. As for today, I am going to introduce to you another type of fish ball and that would be...

'Chao Zhou' fish ball.
Just look at the size of the fish balls, it's already much bigger than regular fish balls.
On top of that, 'Chao Zhou' fish ball were also much more bouncy than regular fish balls. Best of all, the 'Chao Zhou' fish ball that I have eaten from this stall doesn't comes with a fishy smell which a big +.
By the way, although the fish balls were very fresh and very delicious, I don't like the way the stall owners had prepared the noodles at all. I think that just by ordering a bowl of soup with 'Chao Zhou' fish ball will be good enough.

Fired Dumpling from the stall.
Although this place prepare fantastic 'Chao Zhou' fish balls,
the fried dumplings were pretty average only.

So where is this stall located?

The stall is located at 'ABC Brickworks Market/Food Centre'.
Besides for this 'Chao Zhou' fish ball stall, delicacies like
Fried Hokkien Prawn noodles, Satay Bee Hoon, etc can be found
in the same market too.

A fusion between Chinese and Malay food

In Singapore, you can easily find good delicious food that was a fusion between 2 different cultures. One of the best examples would be curry fish head, which was one of the speciality of Singapore. But let us put it aside for the time being. What I would be introducing today would be another Singapore delicacy and that would be...

Satay Bee Hoon(Vermicelli)(沙爹米粉).
Ingredients included are Bee Hoon(vermicelli)(Of course lah),
Pork Liver, Kang Kong(Water Spinach), dried beancurd, beansprout... etc
And after the cook have thrown in all the ingredients, they will
pour satay sauce on top of all the ingredients. :D

After stirring it a bit, it will becomes like this.
This would be a fusion between Chinese food and Malay food.
Whoever the founder is, that guy must be a food gourmet or a genius.
On top of the sweet taste the Satay sauce have, the taste of a plate
of 'Satay Bee Hoon' was heavenly, especially after you have stirred
or mixed the ingredients properly. The taste would be pretty interesting
and interesting here doen;t mean that its awful, interesting here means
that it wasn't a delicious taste that you can get every single day. :D

Besides for the 'Satay Bee Hoon', another speciality of the stall would be...
Cuttlefish Kang Kong
Although I loved 'Sambal Kang Kong', this was probably another good way
of preparing 'Kang Kong'. Especially when the 'Cuttlefish' gives a chewy
taste and every single bite still gives you the taste of 'Kang Kong',
it was definitely a dish that is uniquely Singapore.
Note: to some extent this dish makes me wonder which one is the main
ingredient... the 'Cuttlefish' or the 'Kang Kong'.

THis would be their menu. Take note that the stall is closed every Monday
and the operating hours are from 4 pm to 11 pm.

Here comes the most important part. The stall is located at...
'ABC Brickworks Market/Food Centre'.

Like a Moon?

Let us take a look at the following picture first. Make a guess, what do you think the following image is showing?

Is this a mango cake? No.
Is this a Jelly? No..
Is this a dessert? No...
This is in fact an...

Egg Tart.
As compared with all the common Egg Tarts that you can get from a
pastry shop, this Egg Tart comes in a diamond shape. On top of the
shape, the texture of the egg, which was in the centre of the egg
tart was a combination between both soft and hard. Usually a egg
tart will have a slightly harder texture in the middle, but this
egg tart have a soft texture that was similar to a Portuguese Egg
Tart. Even though the texture was much softer than regular egg tart,
that doesn't mean that the ingredients in the middle will spill out
easily. Not sure how they chef manage to do that but that was amazingly
interesting. Here comes the best part, the amount of egg filling that
was given in the Egg Tart was both generous and delicious.

Besides for the Egg Tart, another speciality of the place would be the Coconut Tart. Besides for the Tarts, another speciality of this place would be the Traditional Chinese Pastry.

So where is it located?

The name of this place would be 'Tong Heng Confectionery'(東興). The main branch is located along South Bridge Road which was also a 5 minutes walk away from Maxwell Food Centre. They also have a branch in Jurong Point Shopping Centre if I'm not mistaken.

This would be one of the decorations of the place. Pretty interesting right?
Finding the Gods of Blessings, Prosperity and Longevity
or more commonly known as 福禄寿 at a place like this.
