A strong satay smell...

'Smell' plays a very big role in our life. Based on the smell, it can help you to decide what you are going to eat next, what you should not be touching and at the same time, make you hungry :P (That's for my case.)... So what does this post got to do with 'Smell'...?

Whenever I approach this place, the strong 'Satay' smell will turn
my stomach on. :P (Probably because of the location of all the
'Satay' stalls, but that smell is pretty much irresistible. :D)

'Chicken & Mutton Satay'
Due to religion reasons, hence I couldn't go for the Beef 'Satay', but
I still can go for the Chicken and Mutton 'Satay'. When the dish landed
on my table I was like... =="" The Chicken meat is ultra reddish in colour
and I miss my 'Satay' rice that was wrapped in the banana leaves, but
either ways appearance can be deceiving, hence here goes for nothing...

Although the rice doesn't smell as good as the normal 'Satay' rice, but
the taste is pretty much acceptable. As for the 'Satay', looks can really
be deceiving. All the 'Satay' ended up to be pretty chewy and it's isn't
too dry. Best of all, the sweet 'Satay' sauce that isn't too chunky.
I wonder how much effort, or in fact how much peanuts you need to grind
into order to make the 'Satay' sauce to smell so nice and still have a
crazily strong taste of peanuts. :?

So where can you try this?

The name of this stall would be 'Yusof Haji Jalal'.
It's located inside 'Pasir Panjang Food Centre'.
(By the way, the easiest way to get there would be the step of hopping
on to any one of the MRT trains in Singapore and get off at the Circle
line station 'Pasir Panjang'. The Food Centre is located next to the
train station.)

Notes:
  • Operating Hours: 5pm - 11pm (Closed on Tuesday)
  • Depending on the sales of the day, the stall might be closed before 8pm. =="" (One thing I loved about Hawkers, they just love to play the game of 'hard to get'.)
  • By the way, it seems that this stall used to be located in the old 'Satay Club' back then, so why not hurried down to 'Pasir Panjang Food Centre' now to give a try. :D
